Biographical information on E. L. Voynich and W. M. Voynich I had to remove this page temporarily because I found more materials that are more reliable and contradict what I had before. For the time being, here is a portrait of Micha³ Wojnicz c. 1885 and another one from his London period c. 1905. The old page is [not] here due to public demand [sorry!] - but please note that much of it is not quite correct (especially in details). I will try to prepare a new version soon. I have added (13 July 2003) two (rather poor) examples of encoded messages as used by Wojnicz and his friends in Warsaw. This one was found in the cell of one of them in the Citadel, and this one was found in the home of the group's leader Maria Bohuszewicz and decoded by Col. Bielanowski who was running the investigation of the Ohrana. |
