Other information

This is the famous 'sunflower' mentioned in a publication by O'Neill. This has been used as evidence that the MS should date from after Columbus' second trip to America, when Sunflowers were first seen in Europe. This identification is not generally accepted.

A single stem with two thicker parts, one spherical and one elongated. Eight rather large starry leaves, and a very large bulb at the top, curving down. This has been inaccurately and ligtly painted in some indeterminate brown and/or blue shade.
